Torf is an organic rock formed by the decomposition of plant residues in bogs under conditions of limited oxygen and high humidity. This rock contains humic acids, plant fibres and a whole range of trace elements: phosphorus, magnesium, iron, nitrogen, calcium, potassium.

The use of peat has a favourable effect on the soil and the plants growing on it. Plant fibres improve the water and air conditions in the soil, and humic acids activate plant growth.

When peat is used as a fertiliser in crop production, it has been noticed that soil containing it gives plants certain properties: the nitrate content is reduced by 1-1.5 times, the content of harmful substances is reduced, and if toxic chemicals get into the soil, their effect is cancelled. The soil becomes saturated with humus faster, which helps to retain easily soluble fertilisers in it.

Upper peat is used for soil mulching. For this purpose, it is used to cover green plants, flowers, strawberry and strawberry plantings, as well as other crops. Peat strengthens the root system of plants and heals the soil. Disease organisms and weeds cannot live in peat.
